[mw-reg-national-l] Malawi has the most expensive 1GB of data - is it true?

Hi,

In my opinion, after being how industry works around policies etc, influencing MACRA alone is not enough. The first best thing to do will be to understand why the pricing is high from the telcos/ISP’s.

Because;
 * Maybe the pricing is influenced by cost of taxes on machinery/technology importation. Which will then be an MRA issue
 * Cost of licenses, which is then MACRA

Just to mention a few, I believe that would be a place to start from; a throughout analysis of factors that influence data pricing in Malawi.

So, as practitioners in the ICT sector, is this true? Do we need to do anything about it ?
Or do we have to influence MACRA to do something about it, as some of those in the diaspora seem to be indicating?
