[civsoc-mw] Why is mother Malawi abused?

It is because of complacency or indifference of those of us who are
knowledgeable. We choose not to use the knowledge we acquire productively
for betterment of Malawi and all people who live in it.

We are in the stands laughing and smiling when players on ground are
breaking each others' legs while the referee keeps looking away.

What informed 500 litre monthly petrol allowance for most of these public
offices? For such a tiny country shaped as if it is making a baby with
Mozambique. How does anyone justify 500litres petrol allowance?

Selfish people are milking Malawi dry while the majority are wallowing in
abject poverty.

After being on FreeNyasanet and Nyasanet, I was of the belief that Civsoc
is a forum with direction that can inform policy and debates would benefit
those who use the forum to disseminate information.

If we debate I expect that we can back up our contribution to the discourse
with facts or irrefutable evidence. I did Law of Contract when I was at
UNIMA. I have represented myself in court cases and won them all. In one
case I had to teach one Industrial Court Judge a few things about
Employment Act. The judge was not even aware that there is a category
defined as Domestic Workers. These are not subjected to the rigours of the
Employment Act because of the nature of their work. I fired my "Herd boy"
who took me to Department of Labour and eventually to Industrial court
where I won.

Dare I say I won a court case at Limbe Customary court when I was doing my
second year. I went before a no nonsense "Judge" Phombeya. Who was most
feared when it came to nkhani zopatsana mimba.

I want to debate on facts and best practices that can be verified. Which in
turn can take Malawi forward and not backwards. I don't want to waste my
time debating based on sentiments or emotions.

In any court case Lawyers cite cases from within and outside a country. One
is expected to cite their authority. It is basic even in research. What is
giving you authority to state that as a fact?

I envy countries that have fora that can be quoted with confidence knowing
that mizwaya and mikoko yogona are there to NOT exult themselves but to
commiserate.

Your Lordships. I rest my case.

P/S
TC, I don't even know where Mbwandiro is. All I know is that you patronised
it in early 90s and that Bingu died still owing the joint K380.00. I intend
to come over there on holiday 2022/23. This time around I will make sure
that we will share a bottle of Jack Daniels or Johnnie Walker Blue Label.
