[Civsoc-mw] [NYASANET] Was Shakespeare a Woman?

Some scholars have over the years called him a Closet Catholic, a mainstream Protestant. Some called good old Will an ardent Capitalist, a Marxist, a misogynist, a homosexual. Some went as far as claiming that he was a cannabis dealer.

Some skeptics have gone to the extent of completely dismissing that the man wrote the masterpieces. They claim that a group of anarchists wrote them. Heh?!

I think the confusion emanates from a widely-held belief in literary circles: You are what you write.

The arguement goes: how could someone with minimum academic attainment have written those masterpieces? Those who ask this question have been dismissed as snobs somewhere else in literacy criticism.

But the fact is that the Bard wrote like a highly educated person. He wrote of events from history, for instance. In the works, he appears to have rubbed with aristocrats on a regular basis. He even wrote of falconry!
