The first question you should ask is, what metrics are being used in these
rankings? What factor is important in deciding University rank?  Is it the
rate at which the faculty get breakthroughs? Is it about the success of
graduates? It is about the rate of innovation associated with these
universities?

If you ask those questions, then you will know why most people don’t take
the Times’ ranking too seriously.
