[Civsoc-mw] Gynecomastia

It is especially the consistent presence of cancers of the prostate in old age post mortems which led to the conclusion that pretty much, every man will get prostate cancer if they live long enough.

I am not sure of: Theoretically, every man is supposed to get prostate cancer if they live long enough.
You are right that studies have been done in postmortem samples of prostates of men who died from/of something else including old age and lo and behold, (traces of) cancers of prostate have been found. Similar to me as someone dies from a road traffic injury - complained of nothing- but the postmortem result shows they have some cancers somewhere. I hear cancers are not so rare in humans- some clear off after some time without the individual even knowing. If they did not know and did not have symptoms, only teh deities would know. Some use this to despise modern medicine as it can arouse sleeping dogs, i.e. if the person did not access healthcare, they may not have known they had this disease process going on, they would have lived happily until they died from a vehicle crash or something else.

Prof,There are other causes. A few weeks back we were talking about prostate cancer. Theoretically, every man is supposed to get prostate cancer if they live long enough. Practically most men don't get it because they don't live long enough. It is like those who are born alcoholics but never lived long enough to drink. They will never know that they were alcoholics.

Well, SN, that’s a new one on me. Every one I  know who has preceded us with cirrhosis hasn’t lived long enough to confirm your point. Many years ago it was ground nuts which were the culprit surpassing booze. Any thing you put in your mouth can kill you sooner or later.

Not sure I have to admit. But alcohol, some medicines, bad genes, not vaccinated against liver viruses could be things we can agree on. Thanks

Doc,In other words, liver cirrhosis is coming if we live long enough? Btw; There is some shit in clinical trials which is working miracles. If you have liver cirrhosis patients, tell them to hang in there, there is light at the end of the tunnel
