[Mispa-l] Malawi missing - (Fwd) [AFRINIC-Announce] Selected Countries for AFRINIC Training in 2017

MISPA,

As you can see here below, Malawi is missing from the list of countries that AFRINIC has
chosen for its training workshop in 2017. So, there will be no IPv6 workshop Malawi run by
AFRINIC that all MISPA members expressed interest in. I am therefore hereby closing this
issue that I started on 23 January 2017 as copied here below that most of you responded
positvely to.

May be MISPA should consider offering Air Tickets to AFRINIC instructors next time, we had
no funds to do this in this round.

I would like to observe that MISPA has capacity to conduct such a workshop with instructors
coming from within MISPA.

So, can we at MISPA organise our own training workshop like this in 2017 in Malawi?

It is my expectation that AFRINIC will let us have the content for such a workshop if we
organise ourselves, request and then run our own workshop. We could even organise our
own content.

Comments welcome.

Regards,

Paulos

MISPA,

MISPA has hosted one of these AFRINIC workshops, last one was about three years ago.

Is anyone interested in these IPv6 workshops?

We could make an application iof we get interest from more than half of the 13 ISPs listed at
http://www.mispa.org.mw/mix.html OR if I get more than 12 positive responses on this list,
else there is no point.

The alternative is for a MISPA member to apply for the workshop directly to AFRINIC, any
volunteers?  ... I would be willing to support such a member. Deadline for this is 31 January
2017 as here communicated by AFRINIC.

You have till 30 January 2017 to respond.

Regards,

Paulos
