Ours is a God-fearing society. I think that the people were asking from deep down there hearts. 
You may wish to know that Chakwera and Chilima won the hearts of voters because they are married. They are in perfect marriages, without scandals. The mature electorate saw this as a shining example for the youth. 
For the first time, Malawi has a President with impeccable family values. Compare Chakwera to Kamuzu: Kamuzu fairs badly on family values. Muluzi divorced his beautiful but uneducated wife etc etc.
