The Refugee Studies Centre is pleased to announce the launch of a new 12-month fellowship for aspiring researchers with a displacement background.

The RSC-BIEA Fellowship in Refugee Studies will provide teaching, mentorship, and professional development to early-career social science and humanities researchers, who are mainly based in East Africa and have lived experience of displacement – for example, as refugees, stateless persons, and asylum seekers.

The Fellowship will be delivered in collaboration with the British Institute in Eastern Africa (BIEA), and will be available both remotely and with some optional in-person activities at the RSC’s new Refugee-Led Research Hub, which has 27 colleagues and is based at the BIEA in Nairobi.

The programme will include 9 months of coursework and research, plus 3 months on a professional placement with an academic or research institution. A monthly stipend of $750 will be provided to all Fellows for the duration of the programme. Twelve funded positions are available for the 2021-2022 academic year.

Three information sessions are being held on Zoom where you can learn more about the programme and ask any questions. Join any of the sessions at <http://ouc.msgfocus.com/c/11nRNxyz1RHBKDC56xOvPniwH4> https://us02web.zoom.us/j/9712622599.
