Dear Sir/Madam
This is to advise that the Presiding Officers will conduct a pre-inspection of polling materials on Monday, 9 November, 2020 from 9.00AM in all the polling stations. Distribution of materials took place today from the constituency/ward nerve centres.
During the pre-checking exercise, the Presiding Officers will open and check all the election materials, including cartons for ballot papers, to ensure that they are correct and in right quantities. Representatives for all candidates and contesting political parties are encouraged to be present.
This is part of the Commission’s efforts towards enhancing transparency in the electoral processes and ensuring that all materials are available before polling.
However, I should state it clearly  that this exercise shall proceed even in the absence of political party representatives should they fail or delay to show up.
After the pre-checking exercise there will be training of polling staff at every polling station. The party representatives and accredited observers are free to attend but MEC will not incur any expense for them. This is the Commission's gesture towards capacity building of our esteemed stakeholders.
