Thabo Mbeki is an AIDS-denialist, though. He believes that HIV does not cause AIDS. This denialism cause about 300,000 deaths in his country. Deaths that could have been avoided had he provided his country(wo)men free ARVS. Look at Malawi, since ARVS were made generously available „victims“ are living longer. 

Mbeki also backed Mugabe - adopting “quiet  diplomacy” 🤫 when Mugabe was rigging elections after elections and clobbering members of the opposition in the streets of Salisbury.
