The Accountability Research Center (ARC) at the School of International Service (SIS) at American University (AU) is recruiting for a full-time, non-­tenure track faculty research professor. This appointment is a renewable 12-month term position and will begin on July 1, 2019.

Qualifications

Applicants should hold a PhD in a social science discipline or equivalent (MA/MS and ten years of professional research experience).  We are seeking researchers who study Transparency, Participation, and Accountability.  Candidates should have substantial field experience in the global South, issue/sector expertise, experience with balanced researcher-practitioner partnerships, and a diverse publication track record.

 

The candidate who fills the position will engage in applied research full-time in the School of International Service’s Accountability Research Center (ARC) ( <https://www.accountabilityresearch.org/> https://www.accountabilityresearch.org/). The candidate will co-design research agendas with ARC partners, develop proposals, expand ARC relationships, assist ARC partners on technical research and dissemination issues and publish in scholarly and/or practitioner journals.  No teaching is required.  Candidates must also share the University’s commitment
