International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination

21st March

 

The International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination is observed annually on 21 March.

 

On this day, in 1960, police opened fire and killed 69 people at a peaceful demonstration in Sharpeville, South Africa.

 

It is a day when we focus on the diversity of Malawi as a nation and pledge for unity, solidarity and harmony amongst all races in the country. 

 

In commemoration of this important day, IPI together with NICE will be holding an event as below:

 

Date:    Thursday 21st March

Venue: MPC HALL, Chichiri, Blantyre

Time:    9:30 - 12 Noon

 

Institute for Policy Interaction (IPI) and National Initiative of Civic Education (NICE) wish to extend an invitation to your members to join us for this important event.
