There has been a discussion on social media about how the First Lady has
been spending state money on a private trip to the UK, while UK aid money is
coming in to help address poverty in Mw. This was addressed in the
notoriously anti-aid newspaper, the Daily Mail. I thought this article in
the more sympathetic newspaper, the Guardian, was an important addition to
the discussion, as it demonstrates the type of pressure DFID is under from
within the UK Govt to change its priorities.
