[Civsoc-mw] updates on CivSoc-Mw mailing list

These are valid questions about privacy on mailing lists.

Most of the services that SDNP provides are not restricted to Malawians.

For example the services that we provide in registering domains are not restricted to
Malawians, we collect registration details and are required to publish these in our WHOIS
data, see http://www.registrar.mw/whois-intro.php and you will see that there are personal
details that we need to worry about.

This is not significantly different from operating open mailing lists like CivSoc-Mw that are
open for subscription and open to unsubscribe.

Did you not receive many messages in May this year to reconfirm your mailing list
subscriptions even though you are not from the EU?

So far, the perception that we are getting is that we should not be making these updates on
CivSoc-Mw mailing list and we will go by that if it is the general opinion.

Regards,

Paulos
