[Civsoc-mw] OCTOBER: THE CHISIZA MONTH

COLLEAGUES:  Malawi Past-Testimonies in Conjunction with MIJ FM are
requesting your company to observe the 50th Anniversary of the  Chisiza
Uprising in October 1967.

 

Two patriotic Malawians deserve the honour for the sterling work behind the
scenes, Mr Paliani Chinguwo, a trade unionist with SARTUC and the brains
behind  Malawi Past testimonies and Ba Thomas Kachere of MIJ FM . They have
done a lot of background work including  that led to interviewing  Ba Major
General Buxton Namwali on both the Chisiza War and the SA hijacked plane.
Just a couple f days ago, Ba Kachere has interviewed Ba Mrs Mwahimba, wife
of late Lutengano Mwahimba, the fallen hero along Yatuta during the Chisiza
War/Uprising depending on your taste.

 

I am accordingly forwarding to you literature on the Chisiza War. You are
free to add or subtract. The overall objective is to epitomise the need to
give true History of Malawi a chance for the sake of posterity
