Dear friends and colleagues,

I am working on a list of names of African education experts, based on the continent, who specialise in various areas of primary and secondary education, and teacher training. These may include curriculum, teacher education, learning assessment, educational technology, subject matter specialties, special needs education, girls education, etc.

The information needed, for every expert, is as follows:

Name: Lexon J.C. Ndalama
Current institution: Save the Children International-Malawi Country Office
Institution where you trained: UNESCO’s International Institute for Education Planning and Management (IIEP), Paris, France.
Qualifications (Masters/PhD*): Master of Arts in Education Planning and Management
Postgraduate Scholarship/fellowship (awarded to pursue studies, eg, Fulbright, Chevening):
Areas of expertise: Teacher Management
Research publications (top 5): 1) Decentralising Primary School Teacher Support: Case of Malawi Teacher Development Centres (Master’s Degree thesis; 2004), 2) Teacher Attrition and HIV/AIDS in Malawian Primary schools (2004) co-authored with Catherine Jere, 3) Learner Achievement in Mathematics, English and Chichewa in Malawian Primary Schools (2005) co-authored with Dr. William Susuwele and Liveness Mwale and 4) Causes and nature of teacher absenteeism in Malawian primary schools (2007) co-authored with Clement Masangano.

[*Those with bachelors degrees plus several years experience are also welcome]

I would be very grateful if you could provide your details, and details of friends and colleagues you know about. Or you can forward this to them.

The final product will be made available to institutions and organisations who work with education experts.
